The US Patent Office recently awarded two additional patents to
ProThera, Inc., parent company of Klaire Labs, for the composition
and methods of use for a unique plant and microbial-derived enzyme
composition. The two new patents, awarded in October and November
2004, are a continuation and extension of two previous related patents
awarded to Klaire Labs in 2001 and 2002. This series of patents
recognizes the administration of physiologically effective amounts
of a purified casomorphinase, a purified gluteomorphinase, a dipepitidylpeptidase,
and/or other active enzymes that act by breaking down peptides from
casein and gluten, i.e. casomorphin and gluteomorphin respectively,
that can mimic opiates in the body.
