 Citrus bioflavonoids offer protective benefit for blood vessels, capillaries, and other tissues.
Although citrus fruits are best known as excellent sources of vitamin C, they are also exceptional sources of protective antioxidant bioflavonoids that confer numerous health benefits. Citrus peels contain specific flavonoids called flavonones and flavonols and include hesperidin, eriodictyol, tangeretin, nobiletin, naringenin, quercetin, and other compounds. By strengthening blood vessel walls, citrus bioflavonoids can support the blood vessels and lymph system. Maintaining structural integrity of capillaries is especially important for those susceptible to hemorrhoids, chronic venous insufficiency, leg ulcers, easy bruising, and nosebleeds. Other actions appear to include a protective effect against inflammation and a role in cholesterol metabolism. CitriFlavone™ contains a concentrated mixture of naturally-occurring flavonoid compounds obtained from a wide array of citrus fruits, including orange, lemon, lime, and tangerine. Quercetin, a strong antioxidant that prevents oxidation of low density lipoproteins, and the flavonoid rutin, are added to enhance the activity of this formula.
Suggested Use:
